Winners of the March 2016 Eratosthenes Experiment Photo & Online Lesson Contests
The Eratosthenes Experiment 2016, organised by Ellinogermaniki Agogi's (EA) Research and Development Department as part of the Inspiring Science Education (ISE) projectbetween 16 and 21 March 2016, received another tremendous response, as 1142 schools from all over the world participated in this celebration of science and education, calculating the circumference of the Earth by using eLearning educational tools and simple instruments.
Eratosthenes Photo Contest
144 schoolsand institutions took part in theEratosthenes Photo Contest, submitting pictures capturing the schools' involvement in the experiment.There are two winners in the Eratosthenes Experiment 2016 Photo Contest:
- Mr Petros Koutroulisfrom the Tragaia Senior High School in the Island of Naxos in Greece;
- Ms Paola Castagnolifrom theLiceo Scientifico Roitiin the city of Ferrara in Italy.
Theywill receive scholarships to attend theInspiring Science Education Summer Academy 2016.
Eratosthenes Online Lesson Contest
There were89 entriesin the Eratosthenes Experiment 2016 Online Lesson Contest.The winner isMs Marijana Karninikfrom Osnovna Skola Zdenka Turkovica in Croatia, who will also receive a scholarship to attend theInspiring Science Education Summer Academy 2016.
