Inspiring Science Education

Fourty five students aged 12-15, from the Maraslio 26th Junir High School of Athens accompanied by their teachers came to the Computer lab of the Physics Faculty of the University of Athens and took part to a hands-on activity related to the research done at CERN. The computer lab has 30 PC's available where most students worked individually and a few in groups of two. The principle of the CERN accelerators was presented to them by Dr.S.Chouridou and followed by an activity where they tried to 'Accelerate particles' using the new ISE demonstrator and answering both knowledge and assessment questions.
