ISE Conference on Open Innovation in Schools

The ISE Conference on Open Innovation in Schools is being organised alongside the LINQ 2015 Conference taking place in Brussels on 12-13 May. LINQ 2015 is all about bringing digital policy into practice and provides a fitting partner for this ISE Conference which will highlight how the ISE portal and resources are being used to provide opportunities for real innovation in European science education.

    Introduction to ISE and participating ISE schools in different parts of Europe

    This session will provide an introduction to ISE and the experiences of teachers in Croatia, Romania, Greece and Belgium who are starting to use the services and resources provided by the ISE portal.

    • Short introduction to ISE by Sally Reynolds, ATiT, Belgium
    • Presentation and Demonstration of the Inspiring Science Education Portal and the opportunities it offers to teachers and students to collaborate, create and innovate in the science classroom by Lamprini Kolovou, INTRASOFT, Greece
    • How are science teachers using ISE in different parts of Europe?
      • Romania - Radu Jugureanu & Monica Florea, Siveco, Romania
      • Greece - Eugenia Kypriotis, Ellinogermaniki Agogi, Research and Development Department, Greece
      • Belgium - Mathy Vanbuel, ATiT, Belgium

    Practical examples of collaboration and round table discussions to test out ISE demonstrators, tools and resources
    • Round table discussions and demonstration sessions led by the ISE team to try out and discuss the demonstrators, resources and tools offered by ISE
    • The Eratosthenes Experiment ' a collaborative cross-border project involving teachers all over Europe Eugenia Kypriotis, Ellinogermaniki Agogi, Research and Development Department, Greece
    • Closing plenary discussion session to highlight feedback about the use of the portal and how its use can contribute to innovation in science teaching in Europe.
