ISE Croatia workshop – How to implement social media in class?
On January 28, the Croatian CARNet ISE (Inspiring Science Education) team held a workshop named “How to implement social media in class?” for the teachers of primary school Veliko Trgovišće.
The topics of the workshop were flipped classroom, cooperative learning, Edmodo and other social networks. All of the 18 attendees, some of them professors in grades 1 to 4 (general education) and some teachers of scientific classes for the grades 5 to 8, were very happy with the ideas behind the cooperative learning and the privacy and the amount of control they have over students through Edmodo in comparison with other social media that are more widely spread. The professors liked the quiz-making part of Edmodo, work in small groups and the involvement of parents in the children’s’ development by constantly having an insight into their progress.
The professors expressed their willingness to try out social media in class, and their interest in further educations that CARNet ISE team is going to prepare for them.
